Gun Violence and Our Youth

We see the headlines on a daily basis, youth shot dead, youth murdered, youth missing and body found.

When will this stop being NEWS, when are we going to get fed up and start working on a plan to get guns out of their hands?

We as a community must stand up, we have let our youth think it is ok to kill someone over a mere disagreement. We have to take our youth back. Teach them how to fight with fists or their own words, teach them how to listen to what the other person is saying.

It is not going to be easy to have their mindsets changed since they see adults shooting and killing people over a parking space or a piece of gum. In order for us to make a difference, we need to put the guns down.

Mental health also has to be discussed, our voices need to be heard. if you need help reach out and do not worry about how others look at you, get your mind ,body and soul aligned with how you are feeling,

In our black communities we do not get as much support for mental health issues, instead you see our young ones being shot. We do not get support to educate our youth on gun violence. However speak on it and you will be told you are wrong…

Advance Peace is a program here in Northern California I can honestly say I have never heard of it before or have ever seen it on news or at any shootings.

I am looking for ways for us here in Sacramento to help educate and protect our youth from gun violence.

Please feel free to drop a comment with your thoughts on how we can help our youth stay alive.
